About us
For as long as I can remember, I have been fond of watches. My passion started from a young age with memories of seeing my granddad wearing his watch, a Rolex datejust 36 - classic timepiece. I admire a watch because every watch tells a story, from when it was purchased to the present day and the future where it will be handed down through generations.
When it comes to watch care, I have always liked to keep my watches in pristine condition - albeit some marks and scratches are inevitable. I never liked placing my watch on surfaces when not on my wrist. Packing it back in it's original box was tedious and also difficult to store away in a drawer. I found myself storing my collections in a large watch winder as many of of the watches are automatic. The winder was large and would collect dust. The mechanism eventually broke, which is what led me to search for a new way to store my collection.
I loved the idea of a watch roll. it is simple, and elegant. Not only can it be stored away in a drawer or safe very easily, it can be placed in a weekend bag or suitcase and taken on travels (I like to have a selection of watches when I am on holiday!)
I searched for watch rolls on the internet but could not find a design that I liked. This is where Smith & Rowe entered the market.
